Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI) will send a delegation to the East Coast of North America to visit Montreal and Boston from 8th to 15th March 2020 seeking advanced startup companies.<\/p>\n
The delegation is one aspect of OCCI\u2019s ‘Open Innovation Exchange Programme’ in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things – the fourth industrial revolution. OCCI has so far collaborated with global communities at the cutting-edge of innovation creation through the programme. This is the third business mission: the first delegation was sent in July 2018 to the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region (Shenzhen) in China lead by OCCI Chairman Ozaki, and the second delegation in October 2018 visited both Silicon Valley and Seattle in the U.S.<\/p>\n
The third mission will visit Boston in the U.S. and Montreal in Canada. Montreal has abundant human resources in AI; more than 2,000 startups in the areas of Robotics, Gaming and Life Sciences have collected in the city. Similarly, there are over 3,000 Boston-based leading startup companies with a rich choice of investment funds and venture capitalists in the city, second only to Silicon Valley itself. The aim of the mission is to match businesses between North American startups and Japanese companies which need new products and business development. The mission is also seeking establishment of the innovation ecosystem in Osaka by facilitating local operations for overseas startups.<\/p>\n
