This year \u201cHack Osaka\u201d was held on February 21st 2023 at the Knowledge Capital Convention Center in Grand Front Osaka.
\nIt was the 10th time for this large international event here in Osaka.<\/p>\n

The variety of activities included things such as: pitch contests, numerous lectures & discussion sessions, and key note speeches with diverse individuals from the global startup industry.<\/p>\n

\n

Since it was a \u201cphysical \/ in person\u201d event, we also held a Startup Showcase, inviting domestic and international startups. The main focus of our effort was to convey pertinent information about the startup ecosystem here in the Kansai region.
\nThe growth of the startup industry in Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe city was discussed by notable people from within the startup ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The largest pitch competition of the event was the \u201cHack Award,\u201d which included 9 international startups from around the globe, pitching from the main stage.
\nAn additional benefit of participating was that, they also had the opportunity to have \u201cbusiness meetups\u201d with established Japanese companies.<\/p>\n

We also set up a \u201cShout-out Stage\u201d allowing the exhibitors to pitch to visitors and various media companies, in hope of luring interested parties with their innovative products and services.<\/p>\n

We also organized a one on one session called \u201cSpeed Dating,\u201d wherein exhibitors gained direct access to venture capitalists and established companies.
\nAll the exhibitors had a chance to pitch and meet the investors through the exhibition.
\nFor the last two years we held \u201cHack Osaka\u201d digitally due to the pandemic, but finally – this year we could actually have a physical event for the first time in three years.
\nThe event drew over 500 people from around the globe, and allowed people to connect, as well as \u201cre-connect\u201d with each other.<\/p>\n
