”Hack Osaka” - The Annual Global Innovation Conference
Various key players of the innovation ecosystem such as entrepreneurs, investors, well-established companies, students, and municipalities closely cooperate to generate continuous innovation. This has been called the ‘Hack Osaka Movement’. Ahead of EXPO 2025, we endeavor to present Osaka as an increasingly attractive stage for global startups.

In this fiscal year, we will be focusing on next-generation air mobility currently undergoing demonstration tests for Expo 2025, infrastructure (maximizing efficiency of existing infrastructure as well as next-generation infrastructure including telecommunications, etc.) essential for urban development, and expanding our network of innovation internationally by sessions and pitches by Japanese and foreign startups, by business meetings, and by introducing startups and university seed programs from Osaka and the Kansai region.

The Kansai region has an approximate area of 33,000km² and an estimated population of 23 million people. Osaka is the metropolis of the Kansai region. The Kansai region also has big cities including Kyoto and Kobe along with other surrounding areas, and it is a home to a number of large companies, small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, leading Universities and research institutions.
