Founder of Simplex Hertiage Co., Ltd
Christopher Yupang Wang Chang
Christopher is the founder of Simplex Heritage Co., Ltd., Japan’s first multi-family office equipped with merchant banking functions.
He previously served as COO of the venture capital firm BEENEXT, and engaged in investment roles at GCM Grosvenor and J.P. Morgan Securities Japan.
He was selected for Forbes 30 Under 30, serves as an Associate Leader at the U.S.-Japan Council, and is also a lecturer at Stanford University.
Christopher holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Brian Lim
Brian is the COO of Encognize GK, where he oversees market expansion initiatives which support startups, scale-ups, and SMBs in expanding internationally by helping them identify new markets, design go-to-market strategies, and facilitate key business introductions.
He was the former APAC Head of Startup Programmes at Rainmaking, where he worked extensively with scaleups, industry-leading corporations and government agencies to drive new commercial opportunities and search for new sources of growth. Brian is inspired by visionary founders who build and create transformative businesses, and always seeks to deliver meaningful impact to their growth story.
His sector specialisation includes electric mobility, energy, TravelTech, construction and has a passion for SportsTech.

Managing Director of Endeavor Catalyst
Jackie Carmel
As Managing Director of Endeavor Catalyst, Jackie oversees fundraising and investor relations to support entrepreneurs in emerging markets around the world.
She holds a BA in International Studies and a BS in Economics from the Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton).
Prior to joining Endeavor, she worked in strategic partnerships at Google and in investment banking at JPMorgan.
She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and four children.

Founding Managing Partner
Wildcard Incubator LLC.
Nobu Kumagai
Nobu is the founding managing partner at Wildcard Incubator, a Tokyo-based business accelerator dedicated to serving corporate and startup innovators across Japan, U.S. and EU primarily in agrifood. He also serves as mentor to Brinc’s climate tech program, and Japan Representative for Union Kitchen, a top tier U.S. food business accelerator.
Earlier in his career Nobu was also part of the co-founding team at a Tokyo-based food service business.
Nobu brings over a decade of experiences in investment banking and venture capital throughout Tokyo, New York, and Silicon Valley. He currently serves as editorial contributor to NewsPicks, one of Japan’s largest online business media where he covers the latest trends in agrifood innovations.

*Materials, pitches, and communication should be made in English.
Application requirements
• Engaging in business in one of the following three fields: bio/life science and healthcare, green tech, or digital
• Must be a startup founded within the last 10 years
• Aiming for global expansion
• Possessing products and services that make full use of cutting-edge technology and ideas
• Having raised less than ¥500 million in total funding
• Overseas companies must have a base in Japan.
• Able to make a pitch and answer questions in English
*Startups that have not won any pitch contest in the past will be given priority selection.
*We will carefully review all the applicants and select the companies that will move on to the final round (held on the event day). Please note that cancellations during the event will not be accepted.
Awards and extra benefits
• The winner of the grand prize will receive an award of ¥5 million.
• The most outstanding startup in each field will also be offered an award of ¥500,000.
• The grand prize winner and the most outstanding startup in each field will be invited to participate in a special support program at Osaka Innovation Hub.
*Startups that pass the first review will be granted an exhibition booth (up to 15 booths).
*Further details will be decided later.

Timeline after entry, selection process
1First review: Document screening
• Reviewing entry information and pitch materials
• Selecting a maximum of 15 companies with 3 to 5 companies from each category
(Only companies that have passed the first review will be contacted on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.)
2Second review: Online screening on Tuesday, August 5, 2025
Selecting a total of 9 companies with 3 companies from each category
Pitch: 3 minutes, Q&A session: 3 minutes
(Only companies that have passed the second review will be contacted on Friday, August 22, 2025)
3Final: Judged at the pitch contest held on the second day of Tech Osaka Summit
