Mr. Phillip Vincent
Plug and Play Japan /Managing Partner & CEO
- Phillip is the Managing Partner & CEO of Plug and Play Japan, a subsidiary of Plug and Play Tech Center located in Silicon Valley. He is also a board member of Plug and Play Asia region, focused on East Asia. He started working for Plug and Play in Silicon Valley in 2014 and headed both the IoT division and Mobility division before moving to Tokyo to start Plug and Play Japan in 2017 on his own. Plug and Play Japan is focused on creating the largest innovation platform in Japan connecting startups and larger corporations worldwide with hubs in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Prior to working for Plug and Play, Phillip worked for Uniglobe Kisco, the U.S. subsidiary of KISCO, a large Japanese trading company focused on chemicals and materials. Phillip was an Account Executive focused on business development between Japan and the U.S. Phillip graduated from San Diego State University. Phillip has spent half of his life in Japan and the other half in the U.S.

Mr. Joshua Flannery
Rainmaking Innovation Japan LLC /CEO
- Joshua Flannery is an experienced and entrepreneurial executive, with 20 years of global business experience including his role as Director of Sydney Startup Hub, the largest startup hub in the Southern Hemisphere, and as a CEO of Rainmaking Innovation Japan LLC, the Japan subsidiary of a global venture development firm delivering Startupbootcamp, an industry-focused program providing early-stage tech founders with access to an international network of mentors, partners and investors in their industry. Joshua was also the initiator of one of Australia’s first university-based startup programs, supporting over 700 startups since its launch at the University of New South Wales in 2012. In 2005 Joshua brought a foreign edtech company to Japan, establishing StudyLink Inc. in Osaka. Born and raised in Sydney and currently based in Osaka, Joshua has strong experience with designing and executing programs that connect startups and scaleups to international markets, including the US, China, Australia and Japan.

500 Startups /Japan Country Lead, Innovation & Partnerships
- Ayumi is Japan Country Lead at 500 Startups, one of the world’s most active seed stage venture capital firms and innovation network. She leads 500’s innovation and partnership efforts related to corporate innovation and ecosystem building in Japan. She developed strong entrepreneurial mind and skill sets through nearly 10 years of experience working directly with founder CEOs on business management both at a 40-person startup specialized in cloud services for creativity purposes as the CEO’s right hand woman and at an educational and career coaching startup as its first full-time employee. She earned an Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Columbia University Barnard College.

- Taka Nakamura CEO of taliki Inc. Take Nakamura was born in Tokyo in 1995. While at Kyoto University, she built two schools in Cambodia to expand on children’s possibilities. She also studied at a business school in New York while working for the news bureau as an assistant producer, and was involved in coverage of the 2016 presidential election and the United Nations. Through various experiences, she found it necessary for supporting players to solve social issues and founded taliki. Taliki supports social entrepreneurs grow, helps large companies in Kansai area to develop new businesses, and invests in start-ups with two VCs.
