Osaka Version of Entrepreneurship Program by Assoc. Prof. Steve Blank from Stanford Univ.

About

A 4 day-short program rearranging “Lean LaunchPad”. “Lean LaunchPad” is a practical program for Customer Development Model developed by an associate professor Steve Blank from Stanford University, also as known as a pioneer of Lean Startup. We will hold this special version workshop at Osaka Innovation Hub, so that entrepreneurs and business planners can develop their own business skills.

Entrepreneur, Business Manager, Product/Service Developer and All Businesspersons & Students who want to become these professionals

Subscription notice

  • You need to have at least one new business idea.
  • In order to operate this workshop practically, we set several teams of 3-4 persons.
    Notice: The number of idea is one per group, so your own idea might not be chosen.
  • If you want to develop your own business idea, you can organize a team of 3 -4 persons who have agreed with your idea for the application.

24(If the number of applicants is over 24, lectures will choose attendees by evaluating business idea.)

Schedule

Day1 June 29th 13:30-17:30 (4 hours)
・Orientation
・Basic Theory (Customer Development Model, Business model Cambus, Chasm, etc.)
・Building Business Model Hypothesis, Presentation (homework: Complete business model hypothesis)

Day2 July 6th 13:30-16:30 (3 hours)
・Presentation of Business Model Hypothesis, Discussion
・Lecture (interview method for Customer Development Model)
・Workshop (Making interview script, interview simulation)

(homework: Customer interview (over 10 matters per person), Verification of Business Model Hypothesis using that data.)

Day3 July 27th 13:30-16:30 (3 hours)
・Presentation: Result of interview and verification of business model hypothesis
・Lecture (Market types etc., complementary concepts, frameworks)
(homework: Develop Minimum bi-able Product, Customer Interview (over 10 matters per person), Verification of Business Model Hypothesis using that data)

Day4 August 17th 13:30-16:30 (3 hours)
・Presentation: Result of interview and verification of business model hypothesis
・Conclusion
・Choose Best Idea Award and Insight Award by vote

Lecturers Profile

Takashi Tsutsumi

After worked for a general trading company and a VC in Silicon Valley, he has worked for a VC in Japan from 2003. He invested widely to venture companies in USA, Japan and Asia and also does seminally hold seminar of ‘Customer Development Model’, ‘Lean LaunchPad’ workshop as volunteer. He graduated Tokyo University of Science and graduate school of McGill University. He translated Startup Owner’s Manual, The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Customer Developmentand The Clean Tech Revolution.


Masato Iino

After worked for a big financial companyand US conglomerate, he joined to operate several Japanese/US startups. And then during 2003 – 2012, he managed venture investment at Japanese VC. Since April 2012, he is a vice president of NantMobile, a high-tech company based on Los Angeles as one of NantWorks groups. He also does seminally hold seminar of ‘Customer Development Model’, ‘Lean LaunchPad’ workshop as volunteer. He graduated Tokyo University and Harvard Business School. He translated Startup Owner’s Manual, The Clean Tech Revolution.


Requirements for pre-study and text

・Attendants are requested to read Startup Owner’s Manual before participating.
・In addition, we recommend to read text books shown below:

Attention

・If you don’t want to share your business plan, please avoid attending. The workshop will be held with open doors.
・Participation in all seminar are required.
・Account of Google and Facebook are required because we use Google Drive and Facebook Group to communicate in the workshop.
