Advanced technologies have been developed in the UK to solve a variety of social issues. This time, for a lecture entitled “Hailo – Creation of Innovation through Service Integration of IT ×Traditional Service”, we invites Kiyotaka Fujii, President of HAILO NETWORK JAPAN ASIA PACIFIC as our lecturer from Hailo, an app service in the UK which has created an innovation in the industry via smartphone-based taxi service. Established in London in 2010, Hailo is a revolutionary service which allows passengers to find the nearest available taxi by smartphone app using GPS information and make a payment on mobile, which is already used in 12 countries. Hailo is receiving attention, because not only enhancing the convenience of the users, it also makes positive influences on collaborations with medical care, welfare, and tourism, promoting utilization by foreigners, and decreasing empty running to protect the environment.

Lecturer

Kiyotaka Fujii, President, HAILO NETWORK JAPAN ASIA PACIFIC
Appointed to board member of Halo Network Holdings Limited at the same time as President of HAILO NETWORK JAPAN ASIA PACIFIC.
Has more than 30 year business experience in Japan, US, Europe and Asia in the various fields such as investment banking, IT, consumer goods, and electric vehicles. Served as president of Japanese subsidiaries at leading global companies such as Cadence Design Systems, SAP, Louis Vuitton, and Better Place from 1997. During his tenure, SAP’s business expanded to three times, up to 70% share in the market of mission-critical software systems for large enterprises. While at Better Place, carried out the first electric vehicle taxi project with the Japanese government. In order to rebuild the business of Olympus, Fujii is currently an external board member of the company. Graduated from Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo in 1981, an MBA graduate from Harvard Business School in 1986.

An entrepreneur of mobile technology and co-founder of taxi app from the UK “Hailo”.
Hailo is one of the fastest growing startup companies, and has raised funds from investors such as KDDI, Accel, Atomico, USV, and Wellington Partners, who had been discovering blue-chip companies. In addition to 30 year experience as a taxi driver in London, Russell Hall is a co-founder of “Taxilight” which enables taxi reservation on the Web.
